Menno van Wijk
Menno van Wijk is a consulting actuary in the Amsterdam office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2016. He performs consultancy assignments on life insurance, non-life insurance, and market risk for insurers in the Benelux.
Experience
Menno has 10 years of experience specializing all around the balance sheet of an insurance company. He is experienced in setting up Solvency II models, reports, and documentation for market and insurance risk and valuation. He also has substantial knowledge of other reporting standards, such as IFRS, Dutch GAAP, and (Market Consistent) Embedded Value.
His previous assignments at Milliman include modeling of market risks, assumption setting for life and income protection insurance, and improving reserving models for nonlife insurance. He also advises insurers on hedging and improving their Solvency II positions.
Menno is currently a member of the "Commissie Sterfte Onderzoek' of the Dutch Actuarial Association, which is a committee in charge of providing mortality projections for the Dutch population.
Menno is also the climate and sustainability lead of Milliman Benelux.
Prior to joining Milliman, Menno worked at a.s.r. for over three years.
