Experience

Prior to joining Chicago Health, Sarah worked at Milliman’s Philadelphia Health Research Practice. She currently manages several teams, focusing her efforts on helping clients navigate the ever-changing commercial healthcare market. Sarah performs market analyses, trend analyses, product development, pricing, and strategic risk management activities for a number of commercial healthcare companies. She helps a variety of clients, including insurance companies, provider-owned health plans, employers, and administrators. Examples of Sarah’s expertise include the following:

Supporting organizations in navigating the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)
Performing feasibility analyses for multiple carriers considering expanding / contracting markets
Designing new products for several commercial carriers to help shape their risk profile and optimize the ACA’s risk adjustment program
Empowering ACA issuers to maximize profitability by identifying data-driven process improvements in risk adjustment
Assisting health plans in several states with ACA individual, small group, and large group pricing and filing
Developing financial projections and evaluating financial statements
Building and maintaining multiple Milliman tools and models utilized by multiple teams around the firm for pricing engagements
Supporting Milliman’s Health Trend Guidelines and developing appropriate methodologies for trend projections
