Charlotte Halkett
Charlotte Halkett is a principal in Milliman’s London office, leading insurtech and innovation services for the UK Property & Casualty Practice. With over 20 years of experience in general insurance, Charlotte specialises in building high-growth businesses, establishing successful new products, and transforming and driving innovation across insurance markets. Charlotte also has particular interest and deep experience within the MGA ecosystem, and has led multiple Milliman projects with MGAs, their carriers, and with investors interested in this space.
Milliman insurtech services support successful insurance innovation across the industry. We work with insurtechs, insurtech partners, carriers, funding partners, and (re)insurance entities creating technology-driven solutions and products. We help with the build, control mechanisms, and success measurement of your insurance technology solution.
Experience
Charlotte joined Milliman in 2023, bringing a wealth of knowledge from her experience leading successful wide-ranging transformative projects. She has held key executive roles in market-changing insurtech and MGA businesses from the start-up stage to the Unicorn round and/or sale.
Charlotte has real-world experience in what it takes to build successful innovative businesses, products, and partnerships in the EU and US. Charlotte has launched products, grown significant portfolios, built high-performing teams, and managed major partnerships. She is experienced in the realities of raising funds and managing teams through change and acquisition. She has held regulatory roles and managed innovative data science solutions.
Charlotte is well-known across the insurance industry for her relentless drive for innovation within insurance. She loves to champion companies with her strong vision and by employing game changing insurance solutions in a fast-paced world. She is connected to a wide insurtech network of experts and a regular speaker at industry events, sharing insights on innovation and strategy.
Before joining Milliman, Charlotte spent 15 years revolutionising insurance solutions in the pet insurance, motor telematics, and household insurance industries. She most recently served as the Chief Underwriting Officer of the insurtech unicorn, ManyPets, and was notably also a founding team member of black-box pioneer insurethebox.

- INSURE THE BOX - Founding team and executive at UK’s first full telematics provider for young drivers. Sold to MS&AD in 2015.
- BUZZVAULT – Homeowners and contents insurance based on a digital record of assets. Led insurance product from conception to launch.
- EMB CONSULTANCY - Prior to her insurtech adventures, Charlotte was an actuary and consultant at EMB, where she first got her zeal for data-driven insurance innovation.
