This report discusses findings from Milliman’s research into policyholder behavior for variable annuity (VA) contracts with guaranteed lifetime withdrawal benefit (GLWB) riders. This report analyzes more than three million policies by eight VA writers from 2003 through the first quarter of 2019 and focuses on findings related to GLWB lapse behavior.
